A County Older Than the State

Lawrence County was created in 1818 and is situated in the northwest corner of Alabama. It is bordered to the north by the Tennessee River and to the south by the Bankhead National Forest so it naturally offers a wide variety of things to do outdoors. Moulton, the county seat, is located in the central portion of the county and is an easy drive to or from Huntsville, Nashville, Memphis and Birmingham.
