Congratulations,
Neal!

WALW's Neal Norwood was recently recognized for his 40+
years as color analyst for Lawrence County sports. Neal was presented with a plaque at the recent Lawrence County High School Football banquet to commemorate his many years of service behind the microphone. Neal began his career in the mid-60s with Moulton's AM station WLCB, continued with WHIY-AM and WXKI-FM in the 70s, 80s and 90s and now offers his insights with
WALW-FM.

Current station management has decided to not let him retire.

Around the Town...

Letters. We get letters.
Fan mail from some flounder? Global mash notes?
Listeners from around the world are kind enough to drop a line saying how much they like our music. Is technology great, or what?

"...one of the best stations I have heard in a long time". - R.K. Canada

"You guys just keep on cooking! Keep it up!" - M.T. South Africa

"...wonder how I have survived without it for so long. Thanks!" - M.W. UK

Who Says There's Nothing Good On the Radio Anymore?

Certainly not the folks around Lawrence County Alabama. In addition to playing great music you won't find anywhere else, you'll also hear Auburn Football, Lawrence County High School football, the Lawrence County Basketball Tournament, Softball Tournament, Alabama high school basketball Area, Regional and State Tournaments and many live charitable events that we broadcast throughout the year. We're also the home for syndicated music programs including The Bone Conduction Music Show, FM Odyssey, Blues Deluxe, the Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour and Kim's World of Talent. We love our community and we love our music. When you're in the area or anywhere in the world, tune us in...and turn us up!

Long Distance Listener
Pays a Visit to Our Studios

WALW-FM was visited by a regular listener who set a record in miles traveled just to stop by and say "hi". We first became aware of listener Frank Wells when he emailed us earlier this year to tell us how much he liked our selection of music. Frank lives in England. Now, we receive nice emails on a regular basis as people from around the world find us on Live 365. But Frank's emails stood out because he was wanted to stop by our studios. We had a wonderful visit, alerted the local newspaper who wrote a nice story, and wished Frank a safe trip back to England. How cool is that?
